This was a fine summary of what the court has done to the country this year. Plus some good rants against Trump. A glimmer of hope for the long term is that neither Alito nor Thomas announced their retirement. This means that if the Senate goes democratic in the fall – a very small chance – Trump will not be able to nominate even more younger right wingers. If it does not go democratic, one or both will likely retire while Trump is in office. Another glimmer in the money-in-politics decision is that some rich donors will now give to the parties instead of super PACS, which can and will coordinate with the candidates, which means the extreme views will be toned down. As for writing our local congressman, I’m afraid you have already proven that is pointless. Better to continue to support his opponent Rachel Peace.
